Milled carbon fibers are carbon fiber strands milled into very short, powder-like fiber. Despite being short and variable in size, the aspect ratio of individual fibers is sufficient to provide superior mechanical & electrical properties to polymer compounds. Milled fibers provide a better level of reinforcement to thermoplastics and thermosetting resins, higher heat/abrasion resistance, and higher electric conductivity when compared to the unreinforced polymer.
Some of the industries that are using this material include conductive flooring, riser buoyancy, thermoplastic, thermosets, brake pads, adhesives.
MCF80 has an average fiber length of 80 µm.
